Lots of news items about vampires yet, but nothing as awful as last weekend, thank goodness. Still, some of the things I hear on the radio catch my attention and give me pause to think.

Like this bit I just heard about the price of silver going through the roof. They didn’t even mention vampires in the news story, but what else could it be about? And just what do people think they’re going to do - make silver bullets or something?

There have, so far, been no stories about vampires harming humans since the Great Revelation. None. Yet humans are crowding in their houses with their silver crosses and acting like the boogeyman is about to burst out of their closet at any moment.

Come on, people - they’re just like you or me except they have different nutritional needs and they’re nightowls. Don’t work yourselves up into another panic or let that slow, insidious mob mentality start to take over. Yeah, there might be a bad apple here or there, but it’s not like all humans are sweetness and light either.
