FOTS advertisements

The Fellowship of the Sun has initiated a new ad campaign calling children a “midnight snack” for vampires, and that has some people a little ticked off.

Ted Newlin says this is just the beginning of an advertising blitz coming from the FOTS, presumably to gain more votes against the Vampire Rights Amendment. American Vampire League members, as well as some members of the press, are decrying the FOTS’s “scare tactics,” saying that using children is a “cheap and trite: technique. Others are praising the ads’ “gutpunch” impact.

What do you think, readers? Is it an effective advertisement?

Here’s Reverend Newlin discussing the ad campaign:

What a friggn kook… FOTS must not be doing to well to have to resort to that kind of advertisement.

  2. CountAnubis Says:

I may have to rid him of this world….*angry*

The color is all wrong. Needs more yellow and blue. Too gothic for a group that claims to be of the Sun.

It’s no different from any other hate group spreading propaganda. It’s effectiveness will all depend on the public’s willingness to believe such a campaign, how susceptible they are to unfounded accusations and scare tactics. Personally, I like to have more faith in humanity that they can see through such tripe.

and besides, they are using graphics for the photo that was used on the tv’s in the late 50s early 60s…. bad graphics turn people away usually….

I am alarmed at how poorly this advertisement was created. I agree with bloodsucking101 that the bad cheesy graphics will turn people off. Any why all of a sudden in the fellowship logo in black and red and not blue and yellow??? Thanks pretty creepy. I would think that they would at least be consistant with their logo if they want people to recognize their propaganda. People are going to question their motives. Too much shady activity has made the fellowship look pretty cultish.

Once again I must point out to the FOTS if your children are out at “midnight” then you are horrible parents. But, I guess that if you are spending all your time on this hostility campaign, you aren’t paying them much attention anyway. Go figure what your teaching them.

    What do I think?

I think that for the second time in my life I have been spared from committing aggravated manslaughter only by the fact that the person who has driven me so far into madness with the enraging things they say is on the other side of the Internet. If any known FotS members come anywhere near me I cannot be held accountable for my actions. And this “Reverend Newlin” character who has been in my bad books for a while has now been moved to the top of the list, underlined several times, and had a few exclamation points added after his name.

This ad campaign is really sick. It’s the same kind of propaganda that’s been thrown against other minority groups. Can’t people see this?

These kinds of things have been said against Witches and Jews in old Europe, against the Rom (Gypsies), against homosexuals and modern Pagans, and now against vampires. When will people see though this B.S.? Why is it so hard for them to learn from their history? Anytime one group wants the general public to fear a minority group, they say that minority group is a threat to their children. This tactic creates an instinctual desire to protect one’s children at all cost, often by-passing any reasonable thought.

No reasonable vampire would attack a child. The threat of repercussions are too great. And they certainly wouldn’t be grabbing them up willy nilly as a “midnight snack”. Where does the FOTS get this garbage?

Your children are at more risk from a human neighbor, a boyfriend, or a parish priest than they are from any vampire.

Where does the FOTS get this garbage? They learned from the anti-gay propaganda that equates homosexuality with pedophilia.

  13. AwakeNightmare Says:

This is where I just don’t get humans… we’re offering to co-exist peacefully. They don’t WANT to? They WANT us to keep hiding among them & creeping around under the eaves, waiting for them to drop their guard?

The FOTS leader says he wants to ‘run us back into the darkness’ — so he would PREFER to have us stalk him in his nightmares, instead of greeting his as a friend?

  17. Forsaken Says:

This ad is absolutely idiotic, to say that we pick children up while they play just to eat them is insane. First off we only come out at night, what kind of parent would let their small child run around in the dark. No parent would, at least not one who wants to keep their children safe from sexual predators.
